Description
UNTIL… explores the gradual saturation of the blank page through different systems of signs. Letters or symbols are written sequentially, line by line, and superimposed until the surface is saturated. At this point, further writing no longer produces a perceptible difference.
Each work follows its own protocol and unfolds through six successive states, presented together as a single serial ensemble.
UNTIL… approaches writing as a material process of accumulation, becoming increasingly visual and textural. Through its exhaustive use, each system progressively dissolves its own legibility, producing its own blackness—its own noise.
The I Ching, or Book of Changes, consists of 64 hexagrams formed from combinations of broken and unbroken lines—an ancient structure later recognised by Leibniz as corresponding to binary arithmetic.Shipping
