SYNOPSIS

IF THEN brings together the works presented in the exhibition: if a work appears in this volume, then it formed part of the exhibition. ELSE extends this proposition by situating the exhibition within the broader history of LAb[au], presenting projects that were not included in the show but remain essential to the development of the artistic practice.

Held together by a fluorescent yellow band, the two volumes form a single conditional statement. Their deliberately simple production avoids the conventions of the glossy exhibition catalogue, keeping the publication materially direct and accessible.

The publication thus both documents the solo exhibition and contextualises it within LAb[au]’s ongoing investigation of art, language, systems and algorithmic logic.
