Through the permutation of the five research fields:

colour, time, signal, language and possibility

an interconnected field of conceptual relations emerges:

COLOUR | TIME , TIME | SIGNAL

ENTROPY *lib

Two photocopy sequences from entropy*.lib by LAb[au], showing white pages progressively darkening to black through repeated copying.

The sequence begins with a simple rule: a blank white page is photocopied. Each copy becomes the original for the next, and the operation is repeated until the page turns completely black. The number of iterations varies with each machine and execution, making each sequence unique.

Presented together as a single grid, the successive pages reveal the changing chromatic states, making duration and entropy visible. Time thereby becomes tangible through the sequential saturation of the page. The machine’s mechanical noise and copying errors are recorded as emptiness gradually condenses into black. Each chain of pages forms a chapter in an ever-growing library—the lib* of errors—collecting traces of accumulation, densification and change.
